Tranny replacement

Does anybody kno a good place to purchase a new tranny for a 01 s40?

Even under a warranty. Call (don't write) the nice folks at www.erievovo.com Btw, why do you think your transmission is shot?

its not shot yet...but it runs really hard when its cold...so i'm figuring it wont make another winter. tranny specialist said there werent any codes but the solenoids are probably wearing down so they don't allow the fluid to coat everything.

Have you tried draining your fluid and refilling with new?
If you drain, it only takes about 1/2 of it out but still it's worth trying this first...if it improves, drive it awhile and do it again... about 3.5 quarts is needed for a drain and fill each time. Your car will take the special Volvo fluid (expensive) or Mobil-3309 (cheaper and the same as Toyota Type IV fluid) fluid so if you want to go this route, don't make the mistake and fill it with Dexron or Mercron fluid.
