When buying what to watch for.

Hi guys. I thought it might be a good idea to put things up here for potential secondhand buyers too watch out for. Any advice before buying etc.

I just heard that my mass airflow meater is faulty. It did not show on the warning console because the previous owner rerouted the wiring for the warning console to the oil light. So the warning that there is a problem does not come up to the warning console at all. As soon as the oil light goes off, no problem. The rerouting damaged the warning console in such a way that I have to replace the warning console with a new one. Apparently you cant fit another car's unit on there.

Good idea... but I beat you to it.
We have a Buyer's Guide in the VRD.

Some are new, some are old, some are RWD, some are FWD/AWD. As I see threads come up in the forum here I add them to the Buyer's Guide.

What I mean is things in general. Not putting adds on but actual things in general to look out for when buying a second hand vehicle.
