s90 1998 bucking

Well its time for more advice. cars been running great and without issues with the stalling but today going up a steep incline the car started bucking pretty badly. When I started going down it smothed out and of course the check engine light came on again. Have not hooked it up to a obd11 yet but i thought id ask for some ideas first. I was 50 mi. from home but she got me home and drove well. just felt a little hesitation once cause i was going up a hill again. I replaced the MAF with an after mkt. one I suspect it could be that again. could it be a fuel pump? Thanks

Bucking or hesitating on an incline is typical of low fuel pressure. A clogged fuel filter, pinched line or other restriction. Could also be the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. I would definately see what your ODBII tool has to say.

I agree with Tiki. Find out if any codes have been set.

These are also some things to check if necessary:

Obviously whoever came up with this list attached great importance to the throttle switch and connection/connector. Maybe that was the problem with his!
