Hello- I have a 1995 850 wagon. About a week ago I started the car and the horn began to honk. It won't stop unless I turn the car off or my husband disables the horn. Which is what we have done so that I can drive the car around town. I haven't been able to find anything in the manual about this.
Any thoughts on what is going on and how to fix it on our own? Thanks.
Horn on 850 wgaon won't stop honking!

Are your lights flashing too? This would indicate that your alarm is activated. See owners' manual for alarm deactivation procedure, I don't know it off the top of my head but the one or two times I set it off I believe hitting the unlock button on my remote did the trick.

failing that, the micro-switch in the horn might have died, a relay might have died, or it could be shorting somewhere
those are usually the common things on old australian cars (torana's) that would cause the problem...
i have a volvo too, but this problem hasn't happened to me

If the horn stays on continuously, it may be the contacts in the steering wheel have broken. See "Broken Horn Fix" on my Main page. If you fix it, be *very* careful with the airbag.
