Turbos, High or Low Pressure

Post by Jaywalker »

How do you know whether a Volvo advertised with a turbo has a high pressure or low pressure?

Trim level will tell you:
On 850's the GLT ('97 only as those before this had not turbo) is a low pressure turbo- same for those '98 and newer.
Thise designated as 2.4T and 2.5T also have a low pressure turbo. T5's and T5R's as well as those designated as "R's" have a high pressure turbo. Hope this helps.

It does: T5 and R indicate high pressure. Thank you.
