Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

s80 surpentine belt

Post by ariete57 »

is there a good reason why the surpentine belt I have to replace need to be double vd or have the grooves insede and out? I did not notice any pulley that might need to have it. Did I miss something ? I would like to change the belt with a regular one with only the grooves on the inside. Anyone out there that has had this experience please, I would appreciate any help. My car is a 1999 s80 turbo. Thank You

Don't the grooves on the back drive the alternator as per the second photo in this attachment?:
