2004 S60 AM Radio and a few other questions

Post by Thunderchicken »

Hello, first post here. I love the site and thanks for all the posts and advice. I have had my '04 S60 (USA) non-turbo since Feb. 09 and I absolutely love it. Just a couple questions though:

1.) My AM radio reception is progressively getting worse, I know
there was another thread about this at one time but I can't
find it.

2.) The protective cover on the bottom of the engine is missing.
Should I get another one?

3.) The rear driver's side door latch doesn't work as well as the
others. You have to shut the door harder for it to properly
latch and the handle travels farther up before the lock
disengages. Any idea?

Thanks in advance!

1) I can't help you there.

2) It would probably keep the bottom of the engine and transmission cleaner. You can try to get a good used one from these two places: www.vandsautodismantlers.com or www.erievovo.com. They will probably be a lot cheaper than getting a new one from a Volvo dealer.

3) You probably just need to adjust the striker.

For #2, I would forgo the plastic cover and get an aluminum skid plate in its place...both the dealer and www.ipdusa.com sell them. I believe they are about the same price but with the IPD unit, you can change your oil without taking it off.
