rim and timing belt

Post by Dunoyer »

What is the typical cost for a timing belt replacement -- parts and labor?

I need a new rim for my snow tire, where's a good and cheap place to find one?

My mechanic can do this for $200Can. Parts and labour.

Check the parts yards for replacement rims. I found a set of 'Cetus' in almost new condition for $200. They want $20 for a steel 16".

Problem is that the $200 was probably just the belt...you really need to replace the tensioner too and probably the idler roller and tensioner pulley...and maybe even your water pump (depends on your miles)...parts alone at a discount house cost me about $280...then labor wasn't bad as long as you can get everything off without much issue...so, with parts and labor to do everything, I would say close to $500 from most reputable shops (water pump included with the extra parts I mentioned above).

You're going to throw down at least $500 for a belt/component change.

I spent $260 using all oem and a Hepu water pump doing it myself. The closest I could get a shop to do it was over $600, using aftermarket parts. So, I came out way ahead.
