V70XC 2001 ABS light

Post by musie66 »

The ABS light on my 2001 V70XC was on and broken sensor ring and damaged sensor on the right front was replaced.

The ABS and Traction light is still showing. I have tried disconnecting the battery but have been unsuccessful at getting it off.

The service centre's code reader indicates a problem with the ABS pump relay but it checks out okay. I can't get them to issue a new M.O.T. with the light on.

Any ideas please.

Probably the ABS module. Very common for this year. Generaly fails around 75K MILES. GOOGLE VICTOR ROCHE for more info. He can fix this for a very good price. The removal is easy, but you need a very small torx that is hard to find. Victor sells them for around $5. Many members have used his service with no complaints. Fast service, very helpful, fair price. Check it out.

Thanks Jerry, I thought that if the module went out the speedometer went as well, so I was looking for something else. I'll check out Victor's site.

Speedo- sometimes they go out sometimes they don't- depends on how the module is broken. Also, +10 for Victor- we have a link to him in our Vendor section (tab above). I've used him myself and I can't say enough about how good his service is!
