760 turbo 1988 acceleration problem.

Hi Volvo Fan's,
My 1988 760 turbo doesn't seem to want to accelerate. It starts fine and seems to idle fine and you can give it some revs but only until you put it in drive and try to take off... Seems if you give it just a tiny bit of gas it will go but if you give it some more it seems to want to bog down and you can here a light popping sound from the exhaust as well as leaving a trail of light grayish smoke behind me ( I thought maybe over fueling )

I took off all the hoses and ducting to the turbo this afternoon and inspected for leaks and blockages but found nothing wrong.... I cleaned it all up and put it all back together. I also removed the bypass valve and checked its operation all was fine I reinstalled it.

I have also found that it seems to run a little better if i Disconnect the Air mass Meter .... Should i try a new one?
Does anyone have any Idea's ?

Well once again I have solved the problem myself.... I picked up a used air flow meter from the local self serve auto wrecker and the Mighty Volvo Screams once again.

Here is a note to others that find them selves in the same pickle i was in.
1984 - 1988 volvo 240's non turbo of course
1984 - 1989 Volvo 760's and 740's all take the same Airflow Meter.
A new one is close to $1,000 so i thought i would try the $30.00 auto wrecker special!
