1999 S80 T6 Auto seat positioning flipped it's logic

Seems that whenever someone 'knew' uses the vehicle the auto seat positioning flips it's logic. i.e. I enter the vehicle after my son has driven it and has left the seat in his desired/forward position. I opened the door with the remote. I move the seat to my preferred position with one of the three preprogrammed positions. I then exit the vehicle at my destination and lock it with the remote. When I later return to the vehicle, the seat has moved back to my sons position rather than staying where I had left it. This is reverse of the correct logic as far as I know. Anyone else had this problem? If so, any fix available. The next trip all works ok. Just a bit of a hassle more than anything....

On mine it's keyed to the remote. When I unlock with my remote the seat moves to my setting. When my wife unlocks with her remote, the seat moves to her setting. When I unlock with her remote the seat moves to her setting and I can't get in the damn car and I'm POd.

I'll see if I can find the directions.

OK, here's what the owner's manual says on the subject:

"Remote keyless entry system and driver's seat

The remote control transmitter also controls the electrically operated driver's seat in the following way:
· Adjust the seat to your preferences.
· When you leave your car, lock it using the remote control.
· The next time you unlock the driver's door with the same remote control (the one you used to lock the doors with) and open the driver's door, the driver's seat will automatically move to the position in which you left it.
The seat will move to this position even if someone else has adjusted the seat since you last drove the car.

NOTE:
· This feature will work in the same way with all of the remote control transmitters (up to 3) that you use with your car.
· This feature will not function if you lock your car with the key."

Thanks for the replies. My son figures it is not working properly either. I will have to put the old grey cells to work and really concentrate to see what is happening... Maybe it is my brain that has flipped

The only think I can think of that's not accounted for is that you're using a pre-programmed memory button. Otherwise I think your understanding of how it's supposed to work is correct.

Does it do it if you move the seat manually?
