Search for part #8683142

Make sure you give them all the info about your car to ensure you get the correct part.

Then either install it yourself or pay the mechanic the 2 hours labor. :)
Thanks. Is it easy to install?

I don't have directions for the 2006 model year. These directions apply to the 2005s, so they might not apply to your car. It doesn't look terribly difficult to me. I believe you access the top of the tank from the back seat of the car.

How to access the top of the tank. Again may not apply to your car.

I am having a similar problem on my 2001 V70. Headed to the local independent shop and he found the left side fuel level sending unit is bad. My fuel gauge would only work between 3/4 full and 1/4 empty, but missed the top and bottom ends. It also failed to show a low fuel warning light. Mechanic hooked up a potentiometer and found the meter jumping all over the place. Quoted me $216 for total parts and labor using bosch parts.

My 2007 S60R is having a similar issue. Sometimes when you start the car the fuel gauge reads properly. Most of the time it does not show a fuel level (as if the tank was completely empty) but the fuel light does not come on. Additionally, when you check "miles to empty" on the display screen it just shows -------. My guess is this is the fuel sender unit needs to be replaced. Could anyone provide input on how to check this with an ohm meter? I am not sure where to connect the ohm meter to see if the sending unit has failed.

Any constructive input would be greatly appreciated!

Does it show the correct level when parking the car then the next morning the level shows empty tank? I suppose parking is on flat surface. If so it might be an electrical connector issue.

This is how it looks in the models with metal gas tank which have a different kind of pump
