Where to buy volvo manufactured hoses?

Post by Washington »

I had an overheating event in my 1991 740 Turbo due to a bad expansion tank hose, so I am replacing all coolant system hoses, though I am looking to buy Volvo manufactured hoses because according to some, they rot less and last much much longer. Any resources for these parts?

Also, do I need an oil cooler hose for a 1991 740T? All I see for sale is 1992 and beyond.

^Oy! the price difference is pretty huge. Is it honestly worth it to buy the more expensive hoses? The folks at brickboard say the aftermarket hoses are basically crap and rot after a few years, but it is so tempting to go with the aftermarket hoses because they are so much cheaper.

I try to weigh the value of my time (doing the job over) and the chance of having a problem with the cheap parts against the value of the more expensive parts. If you don't mind doing it over later and possibly taking a chance on having a hose rupture at some time in the future, go with the cheap hoses.
