Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

S80 2003 Brake pedal noise

Post by BG851 »

HI, Im getting an intermittent noise in my cabin while driving. It is a high pitch squeal (like when you fill a balloon with air and squeeze the end as you let the air out). It stops when the brake pedal is stepped on.Sometimes it comes back as soon as the pedal is released sometimes not.The car feels fine and no idiot lights. I also had a problem last week that might be related to a vac pump? Is the car safe to drive?Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It might be the brake pads and/or rotors. You should check them or have them checked.

The sound happens when the car isnt moving. It sounds like an air leak. The problem is not by the wheels its only inside the car

It might be a brake booster failure.
