Horn Problem
Horn Problem
Once again my 940T horns have rotted out (New England road salt). I am attempting to replace them myself. There are 2 yellow and 2 blue wires. The yellow always have power to them once the key is turned, causing the horns to go off. I disconected the steering wheel switches compleatly and they(yel wires) still have power, leading me to believe i may have a faulty relay. Where can I find the horn relay..or am I doing something wrong with the wires. My Chiltons manual has been no help, and I may loose my hearing before this is over..Thanks, Robert
The horns have continously power, you are actually grounding the earth wire in the steering wheel when using the horn.
This very common solution will cause you problems if you have some ideas replacing the horn to some other type that is normally grounded, because then you will need to install a relay for the horn. So the best solution is to keep the origin solution.
