S90 Alarm Issues

Hello all for a great forum! I'm a noob to the forum, but not new to Volvo's -- but I'm confused now LOL.

My wife's 1998 S90 Sedan car alarm goes off intermittently -- we've noticed no set pattern. There have been two other issues in the last month:

1) She was in a VERY light fender bender. Broken driver's headlight. I replaced the entire assembly with an OEM piece. Not sure if it was happening before that.

2) The sunroof open in "tilt-up" mode, but not full open mode.

When the alarm goes off the siren sounds for about 20-30 seconds then flashers only.

I've tried panic alarm on remote... siren sounds and flashers.

I've tried closing and locking door with window down, unlocking door by reaching inside and then opening from outside. Siren sounds with flashers.

From all the great information here, it sounds like the siren control module but I hate to spend the money if that's not it. Also, I can't seem to find one for the S90. Is it the same one as a 1997 960?

Sorry for the small novel... I would genuinely appreciate any help or advice -- 4 kids don't leave a lot of extra repair money LOL.

According to VADIS, it looks like you need part #9166471. You can get it here for $197: www.tascafordparts.com. You also might try www.myswedishparts.com or Darrell Waltrip Volvo. I'd call to confirm that's the right part number before ordering.

Is your sunroof stuck in the tilt-open position?

Thank you very much for the kind reply. The sunroof works fine going into tilt and out of tilt. It will also try to open (drops down a little) when trying to go into full open mode (and will close and seal back up). I've inspected the tracks and can't see any interference.

That's why I'm a bit confused. It's not showing all the signs of the siren going out -- just some.
