Hello I have a volvo S40 2001 1.9 Turbo and it is over the 165000 miles and it has never had a transmision maintenance or tune up and the transmission oil has not been replaced.... could you be so kind to let me know how to do it and in the case the transmission oil could be replace which is the one to use and how to do it....

Check your owner's manual, but I believe yours takes JWS-3309 compliant fluid and not Dexron/Mercron (the JWS fluid is sold by Volvo for a very high price but is also available by Mobil as Mobil-3309 and at Toyota dealers as type IV fluid for much less). Basically, I would not do a full flush on your car- I would drain from the transmission train plug (use the same aluminum crush washers as you do on your oil pan) and drain out and measure the fluid- then through the transmission dipstick hole, use a funnel and put back in the same amount- then drive it for a week or two and repeat the process. It should be fairly easy to do.
