Hello,
When I start driving and transition through gears from 1st to 2nd there is hesitation and a soft clunk and then it goes into the rest of the gears no problem. This doesn't happen when I decelerate or for any other transition through the gears.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The '01 transmission software was notoriously weak and others have reported similar issues. I would ask the dealer to upload to your car the latest TCU software. Hope this helps. You may also need a transmission fluid flush if it's never been done.
