I hate electrical problems...

so I have a 2000 V70 XC NA, 106,800 miles and the door reminder chime won't go off (without pulling the fuse), I've gone around opening and closing doors...the interior lights go on and off (don't know if reminder and lights are on the same switch) has this ever happened to anyone? hate to take it to the dealer for a ding, ding, ding...

Is the spring in the key ignition not retracting? This happened to me...try the key in and out a few times and see if the chime stops. If it does, the little spring loaded part in the ignition still thinks there's a key in there and needs to be lubricated.

ok....I have some more information...

first the reminder is only stuck on when the key is in the ignition and/or the car is on...driving around with that constant ding...ding...ding will make you kind of crazy (makes pregnant wife VERY crazy)

I don't know if this is related, but it seems to be (maybe)
if the car isn't moving, either in park or sitting at a light in drive, the electric door lock will lock the doors, then they pop right back up...if you're moving they stay locked. sometimes if you lock the doors when you start rolling, the dinger turns off...

weird.
