940t drive belts Topic is solved

have 1992 940t altenator belt broke when looking at replacing seems like there is two pully slots on alt with 2 also on ac is this a backuip for alt if so what belt fits backup have seen none listed in parts

[no you can not use the other slots these are for option that you can purchase when buying the car when it was new you must use the slots that were used from factory

In many cases you have two belts for the alternator, one as back up. The information you are looking for is not easy to find, but you will most probably find it in your instruction book. Look fore some pages close to the end showing the different components around the engine. There you find some simple drawing showing also the belts incl. specification, I have it in my book for my Volvo.
