1995 850 with blown engine
My 1995 850 has a blown engine, but the trans and the body are all in great shape. Car had 155k miles. What's the best way to get some value out of what's left of the car. Everyone's telling me not to put a used engine in it.

...or charge the neighborhood kids $10 to take a few swings at it with a sledgehammer. A buddy of mine did that to an old clunker and made a few hundred bucks
Seriousy, why not drop a new engine in it? My '93 850glt has about 225k on the odometer and 35k on a rebuilt used engine.

Hmmmm... perhaps I should merge my 93 850 with the trashed transmission with your 850 with the trashed engine.
Seriously, the cost to purchase and install a used engine is likely going to be over the value of a working version of your car. Well, unless, of course, you plan on doing the engine swap yourself. I do understand your hesitation to abandon the body - my 93 850 engine runs great and the body hasn't a spot of rust to be found.
cheers.
Paul.

Part it out on ebay. Just sell whatever piece you removed that week.lindyb wrote:My 1995 850 has a blown engine, but the trans and the body are all in great shape. Car had 155k miles.
