2000 S40 Ignition Switch replacement
2000 S40 Ignition Switch replacement
I have a 2000 S40 that recently had the ignition switch stop working to Start the vehicle. I posted here and got some good information. I removed the actual switch off the back of the lock cylinder and was able to start the car. I have now purchased a used replacement part from a local salvage yard. I just want to post here to get an idea if this is something easy to replace or am I biting off more than I can chew? I do realize that the keys will be different for the doos and the ignition. I'm fine with that. The local Volvo dealer said it would cost $400+ for repairs. I have purchased a service manual for reference. Just to be clear I am wanting to replace the lock cylinder. Can I get some guidance or advice?

I don't see anything about it in my copy of VADIS for your car- If you were able to get it out, I would think the replacement would be straight forward- good luck and let us know how it goes.
