HI,
My 96 850 ac compressor kick on for a few seconds and then kicks off and just keeps doing this.
When I put a guage on it reads 37.
Today I jumpered the low presure sensor and the compressor kicks on and works fine, blows cold air.
I have had a mechanic empty the system and refill and still no effect.
It is as simple as just replacing the low pressure sensor?
Best Regards,

Elaborate a bit more. Does the gauge read 37 PSI with the compressor on or off? If the compressor is running then that is about right depending on the ambient temperature.
If the compressor is not running then the pressure is way to low.
If your pressures checks out OK then you may have a clutch gap issue - there are some great links in the repair database that show a number of different ways to fix that problem.

37 Is while the compressor is running.
When it is jumpered and you turn the AC on and off from inside of the car the clutch responds everytime.
But when the pressure switch is not jumpered it keeps cycling like there is low presure in the system.
With all of the forms that I have read I never seen anyone have a bad pressure sensor. Just wondering if I could be on the right track.
If it was the clutch gap it would not respond like it does when it is jumpered, right?

The clutch gap issues seem to create a situation where the AC runs just fine for 15 minutes or so and then it just up and dies.
Based on your description the low pressure sensor may be the fault but they rarely go bad - I'm not saying that they never go bad but that one is rare.
In Volvo terms it is a cheap part and it may well fix your problem.
