Best Automatic Acceleration

Just a simple question I have always wondered. Is the fastest way to accelerate with an automatic transmission just to slam on the gas?

Well from my younger years,

Left foot on the brakes hard, Right foot on the gas to wind the clock a little bit just before the launch. Not to long or the tranny will start to burn the fluid. The idea is to bring the engine up to the torque converter
95' Volvo 850 GLT, Lots 'o' miles, 118k, Broke in just right.

90' Ford Ranger 4x4, Even more miles, 145k, Seat is broke in just right.

02' Ford F-250 Super Duty 4x4, 85k, Working on the first 100k

And with the FWD turbos, hang on to the wheel. The cars like to follow uneven pavement.

I did not realize that the Volvos were prone to
95' Volvo 850 GLT, Lots 'o' miles, 118k, Broke in just right.

90' Ford Ranger 4x4, Even more miles, 145k, Seat is broke in just right.

02' Ford F-250 Super Duty 4x4, 85k, Working on the first 100k

Wait... Torque steer? So my car DOESN'T have a bad alignment? Reason I ask is that my '93 850glt pulls to the right under acceleration, the harder the acceleration, the more it wants to pull...

Okay, now let me ask you this... My parents car, which is a '95 850 Turbo, doesn't want to pull like mine does ('93 850glt). Is there that much a difference between the two years/models?
That I have no explaination for.
Also, will tires make a difference? When I test drove the car, it had somewhat worn tires on it, when I bought it, the dude threw on some tires with more tread.
The wider the tires the more prone the car will be to following ruts or pavement joints, generally speaking. I don't think torque steer is affected by tread depth.

Torque Steer is the cause of unequal axle lengths or one is not the same strength as the other. Most front wheel drive cars are prone to it if they do not have a
