240 1993 Automatic shifter alignment with indicator

My 240 has 175,000+ miles but I just replaced the cog in the odometer so I won't have to say that again. In my other recent posts you would see that I just replaced the rear main seal. Well, that is done and the tranny is reinstalled. I also replaced the entire shifter mechanism because mine was schrapnel in the bucket.
So, all is in place but I notice that the shifter does not line up with the drive letters on the housing. P and 1 are correct but D and 2 are off some. It doesn't bother me much but it is my daughter's car and I want it to line up for her so she won't have to worry.
I think I saw this fix somewhere but I just can't find it.

Thanks. I am afraid that some of my questions have been the result of being a Volvo newbie. As I spent more time with the new shifter installed I noticed that it lined up well with the back edge of the shaft and the line on the face plate that indicates the gear. I guess I am use to the center of the shaft lining up with the line. Thank you for your patience.
