1993 Volvo 940t AC Compressor Wiring Question
1993 Volvo 940t AC Compressor Wiring Question
I am looking for a part and I will try to describe it the best I can. On my 93 Volvo 940, coming from what appears to be the AC compressor clutch there is a small black wire that runs in to what appears to be some sort of resistor (it is brown in color) and mounts on the upper rear ac compressor mounting bolt. A few days ago, the bolt vibrated out and the small brown (resistor?) became damaged and the wire broke off. I would like to replace this piece but I am not even sure what to call it. If anyone knows what this is, your help is appreciated. I can post a pic if needed. Thanks

I have checked all of my books, discs and VADIS and can't find a name for the part broken. It only appears on one diagram out of about twenty that I have.
My local AC fitter thinks it may just be a resistor but won't let me quote him on that as he has never had to replace one. I haven't quoted him on that!!!!
Sorry I can't help.
Bill.

I just asked one of our sales guys if they know what you are talking about from your description, and they weren't sure.
Could you show us a picture? You should try looking at the diagram at a dealer to see what the part is called. I'm sure we'll be able to get you it.

Appreciate the replies, this piece was on a 940 that I just sold. I noticed the missing bolt and broken "resistor" or whatever it is, the day I sold it. Luckily, the guy who bought it had a 740 with the good brown mystery piece, but otherwise bad ac system. He simply swapped the piece over and now all is well. Thanks again for your replies.
