Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

I believe you need the specialized Volvo computer to reset this code. Best thing to do would be to take it to a Volvo dealer for an evaluation.

Had mine come on when I pulled the cd player out to repair it. Seems it had something to do with not allowing the residual power to "drain out" prior to disturbing the electrical equipment. (From what I gather, the safety systems retain their own power for a while after power is shut off or interrupted, so they continue to work in event an accident wipes things out...)

Don't really know why the code sets in this instance, or if it does it for other things, too.
(I've heard that this disables the airbag system, but I don't know if this is true)

But, yeah, everyone says it can only be reset by the $$dealer$$, so grab your wallet and get it checked out.

Updated info:

There is a tool that can reset the light. ($200)

(My apologies to the original contributor, found this on the MVF website a little while ago, but couldn't locate it again when I searched, can't give you the credit you deserve.)

Word of caution: There's a whole host of things that can trip the light, some really minor, and others that can be quite serious.
If you have any doubts at all, get a loan and see the dealer.
