2002 S60 bulb failure message

I've replaced the bad bulb but how do I get rid of the "bulb failure" message on the dash?

Try replacing the bulb on the opposite side. The system works by checking impedance balance between bulbs. Cleaning the sockets won't hurt either.

The dash message was off for a day, but now it's back. What else could be causing the message?
