1995 850 speedometer stops working for 5 miles then fine

ive had this problem for a while and cant figure out whats wrong it started last summer, then when it got cooler it stopped, now its back when on cruise i go about 10 miles then speedo starts jumping around lasts about 5 miles then fine i just clear the codes. it does this every morn and night to and from work i drive 100 miles a day other than that its a great car 270,000 miles any ideals thanks

What codes do you have and what port are you pulling them out of?

it is a gear ratio code through obd thanks

Check the connector on your vehicle speed sensor - it is located on the back side of the transaxle below the transmission. It is more or less midway between where the axles go into the housing.
