I know a jumper can be installed to replace the circuit board that has gone bad but I don't know how to do it or where it is. Can you help me?

I can't tell you exactly where to jump the two contacts, I'm sure someone will chime in with the exact location. In the meantime though, you can try a search of the forums using the part name as a query, the part in question is the Temperature Compensation Board.

Clare, welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

Go with FCPGroton's advice and buy the bypass board from IPD.
