Text Window fault volvo s80 2003

posted recently and got help with another dashboard problem ( my clock bulb had gone ). hoping now someone might have answer to this one.

for a long time now ( probably about 2 years ) my text window on the dashboard seems to go on and off, sometimes flashes, sometimes displays just lines, somtimes displays the text but in the worng place and other times works fine for a while then goes on the blink again. everything else on the dashboard works perfectly.

i have got used to having the thing turned off, but would be nice to have it back just so i can see what the darn warning lights mean when they appear, rather than waiting for the text window to wake up and start working properly to tell me.

when i had the dahsboard out recently, the connector seems fine. not sure where this lead goes to from the dashboard though.
