Engine check light and transmission light on

My 2000 V70 XC has been experiencing problems with the warning lights that indicate a possible ABS module replacement. I'm still diagnosing, but now my transmission light (the orange arrow) has come on and is flashing. The engine check light is also on. Is the car safe to drive? Thanks in advance.

Have the fault codes read at Autozone, Pepboys or similar, free of charge. They may clear the codes if you ask nicely although I understand they are not supposed to do this. Post back with the results.
