idle drops below 500rpm and adjusts

Post by davis123 »

Hi,

I have a volvo s70 2000, when driving and coming to a rolling stop the engine idle drops below 300-400 rpm (almost stalling) and then picks up. Any ideas on what this could be? I heard it could be the electronic throttle. Is there a way to clean this? Thx

Electronic throttle body on its way out is exactly what that is. You can clean it, but it'll start doing it again in a few hundred miles and will eventually fail completely. You'll want to talk to a guy that goes by the username of MTPOCKITS over on the Volvospeed forums. He can source ETM's for a very good price. PM him for details.
