I just received a couple of CD's of Vadis software that I bought
off eBay from a seller in the UK....cost mailed to me was just a tad over $13 so I think I got a good deal since I am supporting
both a 95 850 turbo and a 2006 S60. One of the CD's is a slew
of Volvo wiring diagrams in Adobe format. Anyway, when I installed the Vadis software, something called VCT2000 Update
was also installed. Does anyone know what this is?
thanks, Phil
VADIS software question....

VCT2000 is the older version of the Volvo scan tool interface. They are very expensive when you can find them although I see that a couple of Chinese manufacturers have copied it but it is still over $1000.00 at this point.

First, the wiring mauals that came along with this set are fantastic and far exceed the Haynes manual. As for comparing the Haynes manual to Vadis (I have the Haynes manual for my 850 only) I'd say it could be a toss up. I think the drawings and diagrams in Vadis are better but the Haynes has more descriptive verbage and more pictures. I would say that the Haynes is more amateur mechanic friendly. The Vadis covers some areas that are not included in Haynes. Also, the Vadis takes some getting used to as navigation is not all that intuitive.
I am glad that I have both the Vadis and the Haynes. Hope this helps, Phil

I've found that the best thing about VADIS is the parts diagrams. Not only can I call the local stealership with the part number rather then trying to describe what I need only to have them order the wrong thing but the exploded parts diagrams give you a decent understanding of how things need to be disassembled.
