Hey everyone I was hoping to find some information about Volvo oil coolers. I am an adminstrator on the Corrado Club of Canada and I have a 1994 VR6 Corrado and I was interested in making a cheap oil cooler for it. VW's use a liquid to liquid oil cooler from the factory but what I was wondering is if Volvo's use a thermatically controlled oil cooler.
My idea is to hopefully use the Volvo adapter if it is compatable and then use an Audi oil cooler and mount this on one end or the other of my bumper & use ducting to direct air flow.
Can anyone help with the models of Volvo cars that would have come with a factory oil cooler so I can check around and see if I can find one?
Thanks for any help, Dennis
What Volvo's used an external oil cooler?

I think you will find that all 740 Turbo, 760 Turbo and 940 Turbo used external oil coolers fed by a sandwich plate at the oil filter. Easy to adapt to other cars.
