Hey all, this is my first post. So I'm about to come into possession of a 2002 S60 2.4T AWD, and I have a couple of questions about some minor interior problems and a possible powertrain problem.
First, I've read up about the dreaded "exhaust bracket" bracket on (especially) the AWD P2 cars, but I don't know if 1.) to what extent I should be worried about it, since most of the problems seem to be with R-model S60's and their lower clearance and 2.) how I should explain that to my private auto mechanic if I should worry about it.
Second, the car for the most part is well-kept up on the inside, but it's seen a bit of wear. It's missing the control knob for the FM channel select on the stereo and the cupholder cover looks terrible (I know, nothing functionally important, but I intend to have this thing until it dies.) I've tried to contact salvage yards and the like, but I haven't gotten any response. Is it possible to get trivial parts like this direct from the dealer, or would my only option be to shell out for a whole new head unit and cupholder?

Okay, so for an update, I picked up the car today, and most of the interior problems were fixed by the seller. At 106k miles, it hardly shows its age. However, a new problem has cropped up. The car's odometer backlight has completely gone out, while the rest of the backlights for the instrument cluster are perfectly fine. It's probably some kind of poor/loose connection inside the dash. Does anyone have any idea if the problem can be easily pinpointed/fixed DIY, or how much it would cost to have a dealer fix it?
