Hi,

I'm Jeff, a new member from Chicago's western suburbs. I'm the original owner of my 2000 S70 GLT-SE. I love the car, just rolled over 135,000 miles. Its been mostly dealer maintained (pricey, I know) but I have been able to do some of the basics myself and learn about the car and how it works. So far, I've learned to replace the spark plugs, learned what a coil pack was and why I couldn't find the regular spark plug wires, lol, reset the service light, cabin filters, changed a faulty CVVT solenoid, replaced an outer tie rod too. This is the first car I've ever worked on. I did buy a generic code reader and my first multimeter.

I've been down the road of the ETM failure, dealer replaced, got the software update done right away too, several immobilizer antenna rings, several stuck calipers.

I recently had the radiator hoses, coolant, both oxygen sensors, coolant temp sensor replaced at the dealer. I keep up with the oil changes, it just had its 44th oil change and I have all the dealer receipts going back 9 years. I had the timing belt done at 103k as well as the 30/60/90 along the way.

I'm still on all the original A/C components, only 1 a/c freon empty and refill at the dealer 2 years ago. Original water pump too. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My car is running great and I love it, it gets a bath every week or two.

I've read the rules, I'm on other forums(not car related) and will be sure to post a resolution to any problem I post.

Glad to be here and look forward to sharing. Thanks, Jeff

Welcome aboard Jeff,

I look forward to your contributions.

I am not normally a sheeple but when the marketing says Volvo for Life it has a dual meaning, I have owned more Volvos than any other make so I guess I am a lifer.

What Lee said... plus... well documented Volvo you got there. All those records will help get top dollar for it when (if) it's time to move up.

I thought 'Volvo for life' meant that I have invested so much in upgrades and repairs that I can't afford to replace the dang thing!
