ABS light on then goes off

Post by benvolvo850 »

Is this a common problem for 850? Seems to be, especially in my country
I was even told it is. Why is that so?

Pull your codes either by going here or go to an auto parts store and have them check your codes. If you have a 1996 to 1998 model 850 or S70 (Maybe '99 too :? ?), the ABS modules are prone to failure due to cracking in the circuitboard. There is a guy here in the US by the name of Victor that repairs the modules for $125 USD. It could also be a number of other things. I just replaced my brake light switch in my car b/c it was causing the ABS light to come on for a few minutes and then go off. My brakes still worked fine, it's just that the brake light would only come on about 90% of the time.
