Change to synthetic atf ?

I have a 97 850 wagon with appx 137 k ( speedo died at 125, just havnt ordered the gears yet. ) , just wondering when i flush the tranny again should i go synthetic or stay with dex 3 ????? By the way, this is the most informative site ive been on !!!!! THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone and thank you for the great web forum (given the fact that this is my first post, I take the opportunity to thank the administrator and all the contributors and staff).
wadeo611, I have not done that to a Volvo yet, but to a Saturn and it feels great.
Even though I used her to tow another Saturn with a car trailer, and forced the transmission to a point where I smelled the burnt :roll: .
I thought I've damaged it since then, but it still behaves OK (after about 15 000 km.) and the oil has the right color and smell.
I would recommend synthetic oils everywhere oils are used (it has to be of course OK with the manufacturer's specs.).
