Are you having shift problems? I had a flush done on mine about 92k.
I think it shifts a lot smother.

I actually drained the pan and changed the filter, wish made it drive like new. The problem now is reverse, it will be shift to reverse fine and roll in idle but if I dare give it any gas at all it slips. Never noticed till recently.

I was unaware that a S80 has a transmission filter?
Did you use the correct fluid from Volvo on this fluid change?

I used GM type IV, it's a gm tranny after all. I think I will do another filter and fluid change, I was kinda freaked out at how dirty the pan was when I did it. Maybe it need a second one.

You may as well get a flush to get all that crap out of your transmission.
I would double check to make sure GM fluid is the correct fluid for that.
That could be a $5000.00 mistake.
