Yes! What you mention would be a great thing to do.
You'll need to register over on google and then join the ranks. The main spread sheet is up but very little has been done to add the repair information.
You'll have to message VCA so he'll invite you. For now, if adding a repair for a code and you run out of room, just add a column and put it under the previous repair for the same issue.
Huge Project- But I need everyone's help!

This project has been dead for awhile.
Is there any more interest in this?
If not, then I may pull this topic from the top section of the forum and let the project continue quietly and slowly. At this time, we are short many of the Volvo specific codes (P2 cars and later) but have most of if not all of the early diagnositc and P-Codes. We also have very few (I mean only a handful) of links to areas of the forum that correlate w/ the codes- seems this is the hardest part of this project as it would take multiple searches to get most if not all of them up on our spread sheet.

MIJ

Great Idea, will check occasionally.
What really is required is to take the codes and truley understand what sensor output/input levels trigger the code. Totally understand this is an engineering level project. Would like to know if a book exhists for this as a starter.
Imagine taking a few of the basic codes and really breaking them down into all possible I/O senarious......very helpful.

Fordman, that would be very nice indeed.
I can spend time on this now. I think I have the new server stabilized.

How has this database progressed? Is it up and active yet or is it still being "built" by the moderators?

Attached is an Excel spreadsheet that I believe is the most current version.

It was meant to be built by all, as moderators all we do beyond the other contributors is try to keep things civil in the forums and delete the plethora of spam that is waged on the site on a daily basis. Don't give your bank account number to the prince in Nigeria if we haven't deleted the post yet!Is it up and active yet or is it still being "built" by the moderators?
MIJ was the dynamo behind the project and something in his life has apparently become difficult - I have no idea what it is. If you believe in prayer throw one in for MIJ.

Lee, I noticed his absence from the forum. I had no idea his life had become difficult
. That's really sh*ty to hear since he has given me a lot of good advice here. I will definitely think of him. I hope everything turns out ok. As far as the database goes I know that everyone is supposed to chip in but I don't think I have the knowledge yet to add anything useful...especially as far as OBD II codes go since, knock on wood, I haven't had any problems that require code reading...

Thanks everyone- I'm sorry I've been absent. I'm going to try now to slowly get back into things here. It has been a very difficult 2 1/2 months or so- home life and other things- I became depressed and really had no motivation to do anything but survive. My energy is slowly returning so here I am. It's just so daunting to come back to the forum and see so so much that I could answer and not being able to contribute to all of the unanswered posts- I'll give it a try but it may be slow going for awhile.

There are so many codes not on here... this is an immediate one I came across on my 99' V70 (non-Turbo)
P0722 - Output Speed Sensor No Signal
For me this is related to ABS Module Issues...
Also related to ABS module issues are the codes:
P1054
P1057
P1081
Though I had to look them up elsewhere one by one to see that they were related to the Speed Sensor and other parts that get disabled due to ABS Module issues.
