93 940 turbo won't start
93 940 turbo won't start
Car was running fine. sat overnight tried to start next morning and it ran for 5 seconds and died. now it just cranks. Checked the plugs and have no fire. also not getting fuel to plugs. They are dry. Is there some kind of reset or safety feature that would cause this?

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
Your car is fitted with an On-Board Diagnostic unit (OBD) in the engine compartment. You can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) yourself using the unit. This is the first step in diagnosis. Some DTCs will set the Check Engine Light (CEL) others don't.
To use the unit see: OBD It is in the 4th post.
The basics are the same for the 240 and the 940. Some of the codes are different and you can ignore the following on the fuel system test 1-2-2; 1-5-4; 2-2-2; 2-3-3; 3-2-1. On the ignition system test add 2-4-1 EGR system and 4-3-1 EGR temperature sensor fault.

I tested the codes and get 1-1-1 on both 2 and 6. I found a blown fuse in the #1 slot in the fuse box. It was a 7.5 amp I do not have the owners manual and the repair manual I have doesn't list what the fuses are for. I replaced the fuse and the car started and ran fine. Drove it around for a little bit with no problems. Went to start the next morning and ran for 5 seconds and died. It blew the fuse again. Replaced fuse again car starts and runs just fine. Any suggestions.

You can access an owner's manual here.
The fuses are listed under section 6 "In case of emergency." To avoid confusion click on 6.15 not 6.12 to access the fuse list.
#1 fuse is for the main fuel pump and engine control systems and is rated, in the book, at 25amps.
