s70 turbo oil return line Oring help (figured it out)

Post by gojoaddict »

The below problem was caused by me however I would have thought one of the old timers out there would have asked the correct question such as "you did hang the exhaust manifold didn't you" well no I didn't, I installed it on the head when the head was laying on it's side thus the manifold is up about a 1/4 inch from where it should be and when I tightened the 2 bolts that hold the oil return line onto the bottom of the turbo well it would pull the return line tube up and out of the oil pan just enough to cause oil to spritz out when running. Oh well live and learn, sometimes the hard way.

I'm having a heck of a time with what should be a simple job. I need the exact size of the O ring that goes on the end of the turbo oil return line. Mine was missing and of course pushing oil out so i got a few different sizes that seemed right at the local auto parts store as the nearest Volvo dealer is 45 miles away. I installed and re-installed this little pipe 6 times now with all different sizes of O rings and it just continues to leak. If someone knows the exact size or if you would have a pic of the tube with the Oring in place I could get an idea about how fat the little bugger should be? Thanks ...............gojo
