Running 4 1999s , two in high mileage use, and two in low , means I can use a lot of “ preventative maintenance “ parts replaced on time in the “ run to fail “ model used for the low mileage.
Abbys coils replaced on her S70 can into Caitlin’s V70 which only sees about 400 miles a month. Caitlin’s oil can go to Calgary to my favourite Scot, along with these slightly used brake pads….
Solution .. more kids. Don’t worry, 24 semesters of college tuition wasn’t bad

My Great Uncle was a mechanic in the depression years. When I attended the auction of his business after his death, he had giant boxes of used spark plugs. They were valued by spark plug collectors but no one else. I got some of his hoarder genes.454cid wrote: ↑18 May 2022, 02:43
I often don't know exactly what's really bad until I get in there. That can mean that I've purchased everything because of not wanting to go back in later, or wait on a part hat I absolutely need and didn't already purchase. I may then find that a certain part wasn't that bad, or is is still in fine shape, it was just this other thing that was really bad.
I replaced plug wires on my truck, and figured I may as well replace the plugs too since I already had them. Upon inspection the existing plugs weren't bad, just dirty, so I cleaned them, checked the gap, and re-installed them. I was going to do the same on my Buick, but I found a few plugs that I did not want to re-use, so I went ahead and changed the set..... still haven't decided what I'm doing with the old plugs.
