This is a European brand, where they are obliged by law to refurb used components (axles are among them). They allowed to produce new parts only if used parts bin is depleted.

I was lucky, in 2017 I've got a brand new GKN axle. Others were less lucky, they've got apparently a rebuilt axles. Some of them were DOA (boot failure, bad tripod joint), others didn't last that long.

I see, indeed the ones I got look like they are rebuilt ones.
