Hi Steve,
I'm in Central Jersey, about 25 miles from Long Valley. That might be a little too far if there is a problem.
Hi Steve,
Hi,WhatAmIDoing wrote: ↑31 May 2023, 18:29 Years ago I took my Volvo to Rissi's Auto (I think it was called) in Jersey. They specialized exclusively in Euros. They did a bunch of suspension work and did a good job. Kept to their quote. Labor rate was pretty cheap too.
P80 parts really aren't that expensive (at least not anymore). I've been working on a Ford and a Subaru, and after spending $80 for a store brand ball joint and an eye watering $350 for rear pads and rotors (not good ones), I can't wait to buy more Volvo parts.
$150 for a tow , easy drive and Lyft back home for running repairs.

My new best friend Indy is a 20 minute walk from my house , even faster if I load my folding bike and roll home. These are the guys who dropped my axle and tank for a fuel one repair in 4 hours on the Kat, S70 AWD

2 hours Labour plus parts sounds very faircharged $300 for fuel line replacement on 2000 Mustang. Not sure if that is fair or not.
This!!! It's so cheap when you do the math.
Hi Steve,
Yeah i see what you mean.Sveedy wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 17:39 Just thinking.....If Volvo provides free towing to a dealer, as long as they do the repair, then at what point does the cost of repair being done by a dealer vs an indy, outweigh the cost of the tow. Will the dealer charge $ 150 more than the indy for the same repair ?
And yes, I have AAA. But I could see some cases where having it towed to the dealer would be a better deal.
Broken down, 200 miles from nowhere, 300 miles from a dealer, and just need an alternator. Hmmmm.
