1996 Volvo 850 -- have basic questions

Ok, we will agree to differ, as I look to inform all readers from around the world as well.

Anyway back to the OP questions:

The 95 850 is not that different to your 98 V70. There are some different parts, but lots are the same. Interior is different manly at the dashboard shape but not much else.

If you can work on a 98 this will be very similar. So any issue you have found on your current car, they are likely the same. Look for any service work or history of repairs.

well I am wondering if I'm gonna get a little better gas milage being that it is a manual stick shift car, and if it is turbo /non turbo

I don't have the vin yet, and don't wanna be rude by asking for it before I see the car in person

so.....

850 turbo gas milage?
850 non turbo gas milage?

I would think the mpgs would be a "just a little bit better" with the stick shift version

and is mpg better than my v70 automatic 1998?

Figure about 25 mpg for either combined driving, Stage 0

If you run around boosting you will drop to 20 mpg with a turbo, if you drive conservatively you can get to 30 mpg with an NA

With an NA you can get mor than 30 mpg with a gentle throttle or highway even with an auto. My R on the other end at a struggle for 20 mpg which is poor.

I hope it's a turbo because that's all I have ever had in the Volvo line.

but if it doesn't have a turbo, sounds like I will save money on fuel!


but, even without the turbo, it probably still scoots around and because of the stick shift....must be fun, correct?
