Engine clunks sometimes when accelerating after braking.

Below is a photo of the lower right engine mount that I took a few months ago. It seems fine with no cracks/tears. In the photo, the engine is being raised a little bit, and looks a little squished without the engine raised.

The torque mount is new, and didnt seem to make any difference even though the rubber was worn.

The upper mount seems loose as shown in the video, but the rubber looks fine.

So by elimination, would that mean one or more of the hydralic mounts have failed? If so, how can I test them?

The side mount usually makes the steering wheel, dash and glove box shake besides a knocking like metal pieces bumping each other.
Almost like your teeth chattering feel when you're freezing.

As for the other mounts I believe they are fluid filled so look for leaks or dampness. I've never had an issue with those or needed to replace them.

The last mounts that are not confirmed to be good are the hydralic ones. Here are some photos. overall they look fine, but the metal cord around it seems loose. This is fine, right?

What else can cause clunking when shifting gears or in stop and go traffic. I think whatever issue is causing this is also causing vibration when accelerating or driving up hill (i.e high rpms).

Do a search on this site on " vibration on acceleration". You didn't mention this before, it's a hallmark of worn out CV axle(s). Has it been progressively getting worse?

I think it has been getting worse, but not by much. It’s hard to tell since I am in a new area and am driving on more steep fast roads than before hence a seemingly worse vibration. Would bad axles be the source of my clunking? How can I check the CV axles?

Put on some gloves and grab the CV shaft and rotate quickly both directions. If you hear clear clicking as metal to metal noise it means the grease has dried. Recently changed out two CV shafts which we added grease, zip tied and nurse for around 3 to 5 years.

I think that wire holds the engine in during an accident. It’s loose by design

That right mount, or engine front mount looks really bad to me and would cause knocking amd other noises.

You can use the FWD mount, the AWD adds a plate under it to lift it a bit. Use the Volvo parts webstore to get your part numbers right

I forgot to mention that I just replaced the lower right mount, and the problem did not go away. The bad mount you were referring to is this one and not the hydralic one, correct?

I thinking about getting the TRQ axles another member reccommended. Would I be better off rebuilding my existing axles with this kit? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... n-31216176. Does this kit contain everything I need to rebuild my axles? Do I need to get two of them? Would this fix all of my problems?

only by luck, you haven't diagnosed the source yet.
you're getting some shifting from stop to start, i've had ball joints do that and also new but slightly loose drop links.
what about subframe mounts?
have someone shift between drive and reverse, watch for engine movement.
