loosen the front bolts and reinstall, that way you know which tools you need to line up to get it done.
I think the angle gearbox has to come off to change the output bearing.
it could also be the sleeve.

If it were me I'd pull the prop shaft and call it a day.
I've been driving mine as a front wheel drive for 5 years.

Your thoughts on how the car drives without the prop shaft. Did you loose some of the wet handling characteristics. The AWD is new to us so I haven't had much time in it nor put it through its paces due to the potential issues.

I removed the driveshaft yesterday and it took ~ 1 hour. That's because I've removed it a handful of times, has a replaced Haldex flange, and replaced driveshaft CV joints.

If yours has never been removed then it will take effort.

The picture is from the link. When rotating the half shaft by hand the noise is coming directing from where they insert on both ends?

I would disassemble the propshaft CV joints and clean and relubricate them. You can also remove the angle gear and inspect it and change the fluid, it's not as difficult or time consuming as removing the propshaft. You can still drive the vehicle with both of these components removed while you complete this work and get a feel for how it drives in FWD. I find that these vehicles drive poorly without AWD in comparison with poor traction and excessive wheel spinning. I wouldn't consider not maintaining the AWD system if it is installed and functioning. I know the noise you're speaking of and believe it to be originating from the propshaft CV joints.

1) Do both ends come off easily exposing the bearing?
2) Does the (red arrow) end have a seal and do you need to lubricate from time to time?
3) What kind of grease?

Yes they come apart very easily, be careful of the gasket, its easy to damage them when taking apart. If your just going to clean them in Varsol and regrease them its a good idea to put some grease in the Haldex flange so the don't rust in there and its easier to get them out next time. That area where the red arrow points is where the clamp attaches the boot to the shaft, not very important to put a new clamp on there if you don't have one. Ive reused the Oticker clamp that it comes with. A good quality CV joint grease is suitable and can be sourced locally. Hope this helps.
BTW, if you're in this far already you might consider dropping the angle gear, about another 1 1/2 hours work. This way you can drain and refill it properly and check the pinion bearing for play.........and look north to the turbo and see if it needs any love (check for oil leaks).

Great, didn't noticed the clamp and clip in the photo but everything is called for now :D. Hope to get to it when I get another car to my Son out of state. Will definitely look at the fluid in the angle gear and rear diff besides turbo.
