Not that I like huffing exhaust gasses or have a tuned nose, but it never like burning oil or sweet like coolant mist from a heater core, but I don't know if coolant that's been through combustion would smell any different.
As for the exhaust leaks, I assume my option is just to take everything apart and apply some high-temp sealant or exhaust putty to the surfaces?
The wastegate pivot has a lot of play in it when fiddled with but seems similar to the other turbo I have access to. Not sure if there should be a seal here, but it seems odd that there's an evident exhaust leak.
